EXPERT ONLINE TUITION FOR ALL AGES

MUSIC IS A LANGUAGE.

Children learn to speak by trying to understand and imitate words people around them say. Sometimes they say a word wrongly, but we correct them, so they understand it. Next time, they say it correctly. It is same with music. When we understand the basics, we apply things correctly. But when we imitate without understanding, we apply things wrongly.

For instance, some people only learn music by reading a chart, but that makes them dependent. And they can't play music without a chart. It's like reading words in a book without actually understanding the words. It's better to understand the music language than read it only. Same way children understand and speak English a bit, before going to learn to read and write at school.

It's better to understand the music language than read it only. Same way children understand and speak English a bit, before going to learn to read and write at school. Some people only play music by ear. They use their ears to figure out what to play. They are also good at imitating others. But sometimes they don't apply what they imitate correctly, because they don't understand it. For instance, when you are around English speakers , you start imitating and become able to speak a bit. But sometimes you may use words wrongly, Just because you don't understand them.

Also, only playing by ear, without learning to read music, is like speaking English without being able to read English. So they cant read valuable information in a book.

Some people memorise each note from a teacher or the internet, without understanding. It is like they are programmed to be a robot. They just do exactly what they memorised, without understanding what they are doing. For instance, if I told you to memorise

I L O V E M U S I C

It doesn't make much sense.

But if I said, remember the sentence,

"I LOVE MUSIC" You can easily understand it because the words have meaning and emotion.

Same with music, understanding musical words and forming sentences correctly, is better than memorising single notes.

At SolidMusicFoundations we teach you to understand, speak and read music the fastest most efficient way.
